If you snore, have problems sleeping, and are excessively tired during the day, you might have obstructive sleep apnoea.

SleepCheck is a pre-screening test you can use at home to help determine your risk.

Available on Apple iPhone 6s to 14 and Samsung Galaxy S9, S10, and S20 phones.
This app is a medical device for adults 18 and older.
SleepCheck is available in the EU, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong. SleepCheck is not cleared and available in other jurisdictions.

What is SleepCheck?

SleepCheck is a clinically validated medical device. The clinical studies supporting this device were performed in Australia. It offers obstructive sleep apnoea pre-screening that analyses your breathing and snore sounds while you sleep.

Many traditional sleep apnoea diagnostic tests require a monitored overnight sleep study at a sleep center, using a large number of sensors connected to your body.

With SleepCheck you can assess the risk of obstructive sleep apnoea in the comfort of your own bed.

Why should I take the SleepCheck test?

Obstructive sleep apnoea is a serious medical condition that can have a major impact on your life. Obstructive sleep apnoea is when air stops flowing to your lungs for ten seconds or longer during sleep. In some cases, this can happen more than 30 times per hour all night. This can cause excessive daytime tiredness, difficulty concentrating, and if untreated can be linked to complications such as high blood pressure, a higher chance of having a stroke, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease.

How does the SleepCheck test work?

STEP 1

Download the SleepCheck app

Once purchased and installed on your smart phone, start by providing your age, gender and neck size. This is important to help assess your risk of obstructive sleep apnoea.

STEP 2

Go to sleep with SleepCheck

Set up your optimum sleeping environment and press record. Make sure you sleep alone; your phone is charging and on 'Do Not Disturb'.

STEP 3

Wake up to your results

When you wake up, tap and hold the 'Stop' button. Your analysis will be performed, and you’ll get your report.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone aged 18 years and over can take the SleepCheck test. If you, or someone you know experiences common symptoms of obstructive sleep apnoea such as loud snoring, difficulty breathing or staying asleep (insomnia), they should take the SleepCheck test. Other symptoms could include waking up with a dry mouth, headache, tiredness or excessive daytime sleepiness (hypersomnia).

The analysis process starts immediately after you stop the recording. It can take between 20-60 seconds to provide a result, depending on your smartphone.

SleepCheck analyses your breathing and snore sounds during your sleep. The app’s built in algorithms then determine your apnoea hypopnoea index (AHI) number. SleepCheck uses this information as part of your assessment for obstructive sleep apnoea risk (low, medium, high, or very high). It does not identify risk of central sleep apnoea.

In a 308 patient clinical study performed in Australia, SleepCheck’s algorithms were shown to accurately identify obstructive sleep apnoea when compared to a simultaneous at-home comprehensive sleep study1. The algorithms determine the apnoea hypopnoea index (AHI) during sleep. AHI is a measure of the number of pauses in breathing that a person experiences per hour of sleep. An AHI of 5/h is considered to be mild sleep apnoea, while an AHI greater than 30/h is considered severe.

Yes. Once you have purchased the SleepCheck app, you can take as many tests as you like.

SleepCheck is available on Apple iPhone 6s to 14 and Samsung Galaxy S9, S10, and S20 phones.

Your sleep recording never leaves your smartphone. Once analysed, it is deleted. There is no account setup required. ResApp Health collects your age, gender and risk assessment to improve our products and services, but it will not include any data that will identify you. SleepCheck is a software application intended to be used, to measure and analyse breathing and snore sounds in adult patients with disordered sleep breathing patterns. The device is intended to measure and analyse soundwave patterns in adults using the ResApp Sleep algorithm. This provides an analysis of the sleep breathing sounds and determines the user’s risk level of obstructive sleep apnoea(OSA). Intended Patient Population: The SleepCheck application is intended to be used to screen and categorise people who present with signs and symptoms of suspected OSA. The application is intended for use in adults over the age of 18. SleepCheck is intended to screen individuals to then undergo comprehensive sleep studies, either in-lab or at-home.
